Dr. Kay Hannah, Ph.D., LPC, LLP, RPT-S, brings more than 30 years of experience of working with preschool children through high school youth in a variety of settings - private practice, community agency, family clinic, public and private school and a children's psychiatric hospital. In her current private practive she specializes in working with young children and their families exhibiting a wide variety of behavior disorders, problems with attachment, and autistic spectrum disorders.
By establishing a trusting, nurturing and respectful relationship and environment Dr. Hannah works with the child and his/her parents/caregivers (the most influential people in a child's life) to find effective ways to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
At the request of Spring Arbor University, Dr. Hannah developed and teaches three graduate play therapy courses as part of the Master of Arts in Counseling program. In addition, she has been an adjunct faculty at Michigan State University and Grand Valley State University. Dr. Hannah is a frequent speaker at local,state, and national conferences and workshops. She also provides consultant services to schools, pediatricians, and other service providers to help identify a child's emotional needs and develop effective solutions.
